Our team of over 50 machinists is always evolving and Excel is always looking for the next great employee to join us. Our facilities are modern, safe, clean, and ready for growth. Our facility includes state-of-the-art equipment using G-Code programming and Fanuc controls. Most of our machining centers are 5-axis mills and VTLs (vertical turret lathes) with live-tooling. Our larger equipment handles castings up to 148” in diameter and 25,000 lbs. About CNC Machining

A CNC Machinist at Excel sets up and operates CNC vertical and horizontal lathes to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, threading drilling and tapping parts such as castings, forgings, and bar stock. Excel machinists also: examine the work order and drawing of a part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements; retrieve program from the network and send it the machine control. Select and install tooling in tool posts, turrets, indexing heads, or automatic tool change magazines in the sequence specified on program printout; mount the workpiece in the chuck, on fixtures, between centers or to a faceplate; proof read the program to verify dimensions, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts; monitor machine performance; make necessary adjustments to feeds and speeds; and verify the part matches print specifications after machining is complete.
