Foundry Technician (3rd Shift)

Foundry Technician

This is the position title given to all members of our foundry team performing any combination of the wide-range of tasks associated with: melting metal, pouring metal into molds, removing castings from molds and dressing castings. Some foundry technicians will find themselves welding and/or operating fork trucks, furnaces, sandblasters, sand-mixers, chip dryers, cut-off saws, and grinders. This position is considered entry-level and foundry experience is not a requirement, although it would be considered a plus along with manufacturing experience. What is a requirement is the ability to work as a team, the ability to work in a manner that keeps you and your team safe, and the capability to endure hot, strenuous and challenging work.

Customer Support Representative

Customer Support

This position works very closely with our customers, distributors, agents, and outside sales force on a daily basis discussing our products and services including pricing, availability and upcoming products. Responsibilities include processing quotes and sales orders, communicating order status information back to the customer, problem resolution and working with other departments to ensure the timely production and delivery of parts. Spanish speaking is preferred, but not required.

Incoming Inspection Technician (2nd Shift)

This position involves inspecting parts with many different types of checking methods and tools. Some parts may be very large and require rigging or use of large fork trucks and overhead cranes to move and/or flip them to do a complete inspection. Parts may require assembling to mating parts as part of the inspection process. Fall restraint equipment may be required when inspecting some of the large parts. The job is physically challenging and requires standing, kneeling, and/or bending for long periods of time to check parts effectively. Looking for a motivated self-starter that works well in a team environment. Position may require the applicant to work extra hours and flexibility on hours worked. Experience in inspection and machining is a plus.

Finish Technician (2nd Shift)

Primary responsibilities include cleaning and preparing parts for rust protection or paint, applying rust preventative or paint, and shrink wrapping and packaging parts as needed. The successful candidate will be motivated, have good attention to detail and number accuracy, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team atmosphere. This person will be required to work around paint, grease and other chemicals, and be required to participate in the respiratory program.

Seeking experienced and entry-level machinists. We have over 40 machining centers in our plant and much of it runs three shifts a day. Our team of over 50 machinists is always evolving and Excel is always looking for the next great employee to join us. Our facilities are modern, safe, clean, and ready for growth. Our facility includes state-of-the-art equipment using G-Code programming and Fanuc controls. Most of our machining centers are 5-axis mills and VTLs (vertical turret lathes) with live-tooling. Our larger equipment handles castings up to 148” in diameter and 25,000 lbs. An ideal CNC Machinist at Excel needs to be committed to Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cooperativeness, Flexibility, and Continuous Improvement to be successful.

About CNC Machining

A CNC Machinist at Excel sets up and operates CNC vertical and horizontal lathes to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, threading drilling and tapping parts such as castings, forgings, and bar stock. Excel machinists also: examine the work order and drawing of a part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements; retrieve program from the network and send it the machine control. Select and install tooling in tool posts, turrets, indexing heads, or automatic tool change magazines in the sequence specified on program printout; mount the workpiece in the chuck, on fixtures, between centers or to a faceplate; proof read the program to verify dimensions, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts; monitor machine performance; make necessary adjustments to feeds and speeds; and verify the part matches print specifications after machining is complete.
