Welcome Stan Holcroft – International Sales

Inside Excel Stan Holcroft 300x300 Welcome Stan Holcroft   International SalesExcel recently added continental sales manager Stan Holcroft to the team. Stan will manage Northern Africa, Russia, Finland, and parts of China and the rest of Asia. He will be working from his home in Drachten, Netherlands, where he has lived for eleven years. Stan speaks fluent English and Dutch, and has studied Russian to conversational level. With a degree in Technology, his studies focused on different areas including: Materials and Structures, Risk Analysis, Understanding Complexities, and Design & Innovation.

In 1989, he put his degree to use at JH Fenner in the United Kingdom, a leader in conveyor belts. He went into technical sales in 2004, and he relocated to Holland. He had a sales target of €2 million (EU), but after two years he was responsible for €10 million (EU) in annual sales. His territory covered the tropical regions around the globe. His boss referred to his territory as “the rest of the world.” Stan recounts traveling to places that no one else wanted to visit. He quickly learned that talking with customers face to face is the way to get orders.

His success with Fenner encouraged him to start his own business—an Excel distributor at that time—in 2009. Late last year, Excel contacted Stan asking if he knew of a good candidate to take on a continental sales management position at Excel. Stan jumped on the opportunity himself. The first week of January 2016, Stan met with Excel’s Sales Team in Pekin, and is now focusing on his goals as a member of the team. Stan believes that relationships are key to creating strong partnerships with customers. He plans to increase the amount of time he spends visiting customers to grow sales and solidify customer satisfaction in his territories.
